2013 Calendar of Events


FEBRUARY

Valentines Sweetheart Dinner-Dance

On Sunday, February 17, 2013 treat your sweetheart to an afternoon of dinner, dance, and drink at the German-American Club of Albany. We feature live music by the Mountain Brauhaus Band. Doors open at 1:00 PM.  Dinner served at 2:00 PM.  Dinner choices are Garden Salad, Lasagna with meat sauce, (plain tomato sauce for vegetarians) or Cornish Hens with rice & stuffing, glazed carrots and dessert.  Cost $20/person.  Walk-ins are welcome for music and dancing at $6 per person.  For reservations, please call 518.439.5932. MARCH

Irish Night “Shamrocks & Sauerkraut”

On Saturday March 16, 2013, after the parade keep your green on and join us at the German-American Club of Albany.  This month we feature live music from Herb Liebenhagen.  Doors open at 5:00 PM.  Dinner served at 6:00 PM.  Dinner choices are Corned Beef or Ham with Potatoes, Cabbage & Carrots. Irish Soda Bread and dessert is included in the meal.  Cost $20/person. Walk-ins are welcome for music and dancing at $6 per person.  For reservations, please call 518.439.5932. APRIL

Schnitzelfest

On Saturday April 13, 2013, get your German on at the German-American Club with our Schnitzelfest.  This month we feature live music from Paul Slusar.  Doors open at 5:00 PM.  Dinner served at 6:00 PM.  Dinner choices are 
Pork or Chicken Schnitzel with Oven Roasted Potatoes and Red Cabbage. Cost $20/person. Salad and dessert  included. Walk-ins are welcome for music and dancing at $6 per person.  For reservations, please call 518.439.5932.  All of our events are open to the public!


MAY

Bierfest

On Saturday May 18, 2013 enjoy an evening of German dinner and drink at the German-American Club of Albany at our German Bierfest. Doors open at 5:00 PM. German Lagers, Pilsners, Bocks, and Hefeweizens will be available. Dinner served at 6:00 PM. Dinner choices are Goulash or Chicken Cacciatore with Spaetzle and Green Bean Almandine. Cost $20/person. Salad and dessert included.  Live music from Herb Liebenhagen. Walk-ins are welcome for live music and dancing at $6/person. For reservations, please call 518.439.5932. JUNE

Schuetzenpark Biergarten Open Tonight

On Friday, June 7, 2013, start the weekend out at the Schuetzenpark Biergarten, the last original outdoor German Biergarten in the Capital District at the German-American Club.  The park opens at 5 PM for German drink and music.  For more info please call 518.482.5845.

 
Father’s Day Picnic at the German-American Club of Albany

On Father’s Day, June 16, 2013, treat your Dad to an afternoon of honor at the Schuetzenpark Biergarten on the grounds of the German-American Club of Albany.  Schuetzenpark is a large pine tree shaded grove and is the last outdoor Biergarten remaining in the Capital District. This month we feature live music from the Schwarzennegger Connection. The park opens at 1:00 PM. Entry is $3 per adult, children under 12 are free! Tasty German food and drink are available for purchase as well as domestic food and drink. Children’s activities include a parade. In the event of rain, the event will be moved indoors in our large banquet hall and barroom.  For further information please call 518.482.5845. All of our events are open to the public!


JULY

Schuetzenpark Biergarten Open Tonight

Old Time German Day Picnic at the German-American Club of Albany

On Sunday July 21, 2013, 1-7 PM, rain or shine, enjoy German food, drink, and live Ompah music at the Schuetzenpark Biergarten at the German-American Club. Schuetzenpark is the last remaining outdoor Biergarten in the Capital District. All of our events are open to the public.  We feature live music from the Mountain Brauhaus Band.  Entry is $3 per adult, under 12 free! German Summerfest at the German-American Club of Albany

On Sunday August 18, 2013, check out Schuetzenpark’s last summer picnic at the German-American Club of Albany, 32 Cherry Street. We are open to the public!  Schuetzenpark is a large pine tree shaded grove also the last outdoor Biergarten in the Capital District. Live music TBA.  The park opens at 1:00 PM. Entry is $3 per adult, children under 12 are free! Tasty German and domestic food and drink are available for purchase. Children’s activities include a parade. Oktoberfest 

On Saturday October 12, 2013 enjoy an evening of German dinner and drink at our Oktoberfest.  Live music by Herb Liebenhagen.  Doors open at 5:00 PM.  Dinner served at 6:00 PM.  Dinner choices are Wurst Salad, Sauerbraten or Fried Chicken with Gravy, Mashed Potatoes, Red Cabbage or Mixed Vegetables and dessert. NOVEMBER

Christmas Bazaar

The Ladies Auxiliary of the German-American Club of Albany are hosting a Christmas Bazaar on Saturday Nov. 16, 2013. Sportler Dinner at the German-American Club of Albany

On Sunday November 17, 2013, honor the Capital District’s soccer players from years past in the banquet hall of the German-American Club of Albany.  Doors open at 3:00 PM.  Dinner served at 4:00 PM.  Dinner plate choices are Rouladen or Chicken breast in a mushroom sauce, Spaetzle, Red cabbage and dessert at $20/person.  For reservations, please call 518.439.5932


DECEMBER

Christmas Party at the German-American Club of Albany
