Update: Club Re-Opening

UPDATE: We hope you have all weathered this pandemic well so far and remain safe and healthy. As New York State slowly begins its reopening process, we too have been making plans for a return to operation. Unfortunately, because of the restrictions still in place, we cannot yet resume our regular activities, but our Friday Night Biergarten committee has come up with the following plan to begin our reopening process in the meantime.

Beginning on the first Friday of June (6/5/2020) we will be offering Friday night takeout dinners featuring all your German favorites! Dinners will be available for pickup at the German American Club of Albany at our side kitchen entrance on Friday evenings between 5 and 7:30pm. Orders for each Friday's dinner must be placed in advance by calling Gregory Reinwald at (518)755-5810 beginning on Wednesday of that week through Friday at 3pm. The menu for the month of June is as follows:

6/5: Gulasch with Spätzle and Blaukraut (braised red cabbage)
6/12: Beef Rouladen with Blaukraut (braised red cabbage) and homemade mashed potato
6/19: Bayerischer Schweinebraten (roast pork shoulder) with Sauerkraut and Kartoffelknödel (potato dumpling)
6/26: Sauerbraten (marinated beef roast) with Blaukraut (braised red cabbage) and homemade mashed potato

Each dinner will include a small side salad and dessert for $15. We are cash only as we are unable to accept credit cards at this time.

Dinners will be available on a first come/first serve basis and we may sell out, so we encourage you to call early to ensure your meal. This is a new procedure for us so we appreciate your patience and understanding as we work it out.

Measures are in place to ensure the safety of both our volunteers and our clients. All of our volunteers will be screened for fever prior to reporting to work and will be wearing masks and gloves while preparing meals with as few volunteers as possible to minimize the risk. To help protect our volunteers, we request that you wear a face covering when you come to pick up your dinner as well.

These are difficult times for us all, but it is more important now than ever before that we come together to support the German American Club of Albany to ensure our continued presence in the future.
